Amos Goren is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Group, specializing in real estate, environmental, commercial, corporate, and administrative litigation. Amos is one of Israel’s premier litigators specializing in real property matters and in environmental litigation, and heads the firm’s practice in the fields of real estate litigation and environmental litigation.
Amos handles complex litigation in various Israeli courts, including the Supreme Court and the High Court of Justice, as well as in commercial arbitrations.
Amos also advises on real estate projects and transactions, including contracts for the construction of buildings and campuses for industrial and commercial purposes, and related construction, engineering and agency services, as well as zoning law compliance.
Representative experience:
- Representation of the US government in an administrative petition against building the American Consulate Project in the Arnona neighborhood of Jerusalem.
- Defense of Yakum Pituach of the Fishman Holdings Group in an objection to an administrative petition and a subsequent appeal to the Supreme Court regarding the legality of the construction and operation of the Europark industrial park in Yakum. The petition and the appeal were rejected and the Supreme Court set a precedent regarding the subject of laches in administrative law.
- Representation of Makhteshim Chemical Works in an administrative petition against the Ministry of Environmental Protection's regulations regarding the establishment of systems for handling industrial sewage in the Ramat Hovav industrial zone, and later, in an environmental mediation, the largest in its kind ever held in Israel. The regulations of the Ministry of Environmental Protection were nullified.
- Representation of Oneal Construction of the Fishman Holdings Group in a NIS 70 million claim against the Israel Land Administration and the Municipality of Tel Aviv in connection with damages caused to Oneal due to delays in building and marketing the prestigious Rova Lev Ha'ir Project in Tel Aviv.
- Representation of Makhteshim Chemical Works in an NIS 240 million mass toxic tort action concerning environmental pollution damages in the Ramat Hovav industrial site.
- Representation of Directors in Agan Chemicals in an NIS 58 million mass toxic tort action concerning alleged environmental damage at the company's plant in Ashdod.
- Representation of Bazan, Oil Refineries Ltd., in an administrative petition seeking to render overturn recommendations of the Ministry of Environmental Protection regarding risk assessment and cleanup of a contaminated site in the Haifa Bay.
- Representation of the General Custodian, as manager of assets for scores of undocumented individuals who had purchased land in the Jezreel Valley during the 1920s, and of the liquidator of the Community of American Zionists Company against Moshav Balfouria concerning control of over one million square meters of valuable land.
- Representation of the General Custodian in defending an action filed by Moshav Balfouria seeking to declare invalid the right of the General Custodian to manage over one million square meters of land owned by scores of absentees. The court granted the motion of the General Custodian to dismiss this action in limine.
- Representation of the Hachamov Brothers Group in a dispute concerning the control and management of a group of real estate companies, in a series of mutual complaints, in arbitration proceedings and in court.
- Representation of foreign investors, in a derivative claim and various other lawsuits in connection with a takeover of a real estate complex in the center of Jerusalem, known as the "Eden Cinema site".
- Representation of Stopmarket, a chain of supermarkets, in a successful appeal to the Supreme Court to annul an injunction to close one of its facilities.
