Gidi Frishtik

Gidi Frishtik is a partner in the Energy, Infrastructure and Environmental Group and Real Estate Group. Gidi's practice covers a wide spectrum of municipal and infrastructure matters, including real estate development, natural resources and utilities such as energy, water and sewage. Gidi represents and counsels a large number of environmental infrastructure bodies, both private and public.

Gidi also has a great deal of experience in Administrative Law matters and he has represented clients before Israel’s High Court of Justice in a variety of petitions.  He has also defended clients in mass tort actions.

Gidi provides ongoing legal advice to a wide range of municipal authorities and municipal corporations throughout Israel. Gidi represents several municipal economic companies, and has also advised municipalities on the establishment of these companies.

In addition, Gidi represents both public entities and private industry on a variety of environmental matters such as air, water and land pollution.
 
Representative experience:
  • Advising the developers of the Sludge Project (“Mifal Habutza”) and the Eastern Line (Hakav Hamizrahi) Project in removal of bureaucratic obstructions to completion of the project.
  • Representation of the “Mey-Dan” association, the operator of the Shafdan site in Tel Aviv which recycles 40% of all sewage in the State of Israel.
  • Litigation involving an environmental clean-up claim under recently-adopted provisions of Israeli law involving pollution caused by an ammunition manufacturing plant.
  • Representation of municipal authorities in the Eilat, Ramat Hasharon, Nazareth Hills and Lower Galilee regions in the formation of municipal sewage treatment companies.
  • Representation of parents of disabled children in a successful petition filed with the Israeli High Court of Justice seeking implementation of the law providing for integration of these children into the regular education system.
  • Representation of members of Israel’s Ethiopian community seeking official Government recognition for their role in organizing immigration operations from Ethiopia.
  • Representation of the Eilat municipality and its commercial community in successfully blocking a proposal of the Ministry of Finance to cancel Eilat’s special tax benefits.

- During 2006 - 2008 Gidi served as a judge at the Regional Disciplinary Tribunal of the Israeli Bar Association.

- Gidi has written a book called “Medical Malpractice Judgments” (Carmel, 2000), 6 volumes.

- In 2007 Gidi was noted in “The Best” by “Maariv” in the field of administrative law
