Prof. Miguel Deutch is of counsel to Meitar. Miguel is a Professor at the Tel Aviv University School of Law and has been a member of the academic senior staff of this faculty since 1990. Lecturer at other universities, the Institute for Continuing Legal Studies of Judges, and other continuing legal studies institutions; Principal Researcher and member of the Civil Law Codification Committee, chaired by the Supreme Court Chief Justice Aharon Barak, which has been preparing the new Civil Code for Israel (since 1990); Drafter of the advanced versions of the new proposed Code; Bill drafter of the Computers Law, 1995 and the Commercial Torts Law, 1999, for the Ministry of Justice. He served for ten years (1994-2004) in the disciplinary panel of Tel Aviv University, in a quasi-judicial role, including as the President of the Disciplinary Court of Appeal. General Manager of the Institute for Continuing Legal Studies (1997-2004); Editor of the Israel Bar Law Review: Hapraklit (1989-2005). Member of the statutory committee that represented the State of Israel's interests in the Leumi Bank. Member of the Tribunal for Standard Contracts (a judicial position). Practiced at Y. Samuel & Co, adv. (1982-1989). Author of 9 books and over 50 academic articles and studies, published in Israel and abroad, in most fields of civil law.
