Michal Halperin, head of Meitar's antitrust group, published an article in Taagidim vol. E, no. 2 (May 2008) titled "The Dor Alon - Sonol Case - How Should Litigation in the Antitrust Tribunal Look". The litigation that followed the Antitrust Authority's objection to the merger of the two Israeli petroleum companies yielded a few important precedents on how a merger should be litigated in the Antitrust Tribunal. The article discusses issues like the burden of proof, the scope of review of the Antitrust Authority's decision by the Antitrust Tribunal, how the Antitrust Tribunal should treat new evidence and changing market circumstances and other issues.
